Moonlight Party Under the Big Top and Hop Along Friday

This was an oil on canvas I created some years ago.  It was one of those fun pieces, where I experimented with colors and techniques.  I began with a white underpainting.  When the other colors were applied, I drew in loops and swirls.  Finally, the flat circus characters were added in.

A cartoonized ferris wheel located outside of Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington.

Clown cutie pictured above was a thrift shop rescue earlier this month.  A sextet of clownies have joined the party too!

Since I am on a "clown roll" - I located these inmates on shopgoodwill.com (all three are bidding around $5-$6).  A surefire way to develop coulrophobia (fear of clowns).  *queue screechy music*

Creepy #1 is offered through GW New Mexico - Albuquerque

Creepy #2 aka Bozo the Clown hails from Northwest Ohio

Creepy #3 is from GW serving Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa

Look who has made an appearance!  Fashionista Barbie with Dumbo - seems she has fallen on hard times and had to join the circus ....

Friday's Frock and I Am Proud of My Size link up

I'm entering this Apt. 9 skirt ($7.99) in Thrift Town's quarterly "What A Find!" contest under the Fashion Item category.

I also picked up this round Conair brush for $1.49 and a darling box of watercolor notecards for $1.99.  The brush I will soak in ammonia to clean.  The notecards, along with other items such as lotion gift sets and lap quilts will go for Home Instead Senior Care.  You pick a tag from the Christmas tree and fill the items on the list.

Linking with newly discovered (to me) Nearsighted Owl - I am a sassy size 12!

The Nearsighted Owl's mission:
All sizes are beautiful! Don't be ashamed of your number or keep it from living your life and doing what you love. There is no perfect or wrong size. It doesn't determine our worth and nobody has the right to judge someone's health by their size. So let's show the world that every size can be happy and that we are not ashamed!

How to participate:
I would love to see all different sizes represented in this link up. Whether you are a 0 or 32, participate! This is a weekly feature so each link up will be open for one week. You can add your link anytime during the week. All genders, sexes and non-genders are welcome to join in. Use whatever sizing you are most familiar with. You can link up with me every week with a new post or join in every once in a while! The rules are simple. Post a photo of yourself on your blog, feeling confident. Post a full body shot, so head to toe! State your size in your blog post or with a graphic on your photo. No diet talk, weight loss talk, negativity or any type of body shaming allowed. This is about being happy with your size and shape, not because it is socially acceptable, healthy or better than others. Then come back here and add your link using the link tool at the end of this post.

Along those same lines body-positive Jes of The Militant Baker debunks the list of

Oops, I did it again ...

joined a photography challenge, that is.  Mike WJ of Too Many Mornings and Ziva of Ziva Inferno are hosting the 30 Days of Photographs III.  I missed last year's challenge by one month.  I have found it is much, much easier to join in established challenges, rather than host my own.  There are a few rules, but nothing too onerous.

This is the extent of my tablescaping - claim to fame, nearly all were thrift shop rescues.

On to my hospice thrift shop finds - fishy glass serving plate ($2.50),

Two blue shirts (one short-sleeved NWT, one sleeveless) total $5.50, and The Crafter's Garden by Joni Prittie (1993).

Pink Saturday - the Puyallup Way

The following PINK images were captured at the Puyallup Fair (aka Western Washington State Fair) for PS 9-22.

Post Alley in Seattle, Washington.

Thrift shop finds this week ~

The lot above totaled $7 with pink tags being $1 and half off white tags - black twin sheet and black pillowcase, two frames, a tuxedo bear, a pair of black stretch jeans and The Vintage Book of Contemporary American Poetry  (1990).

This next lot was approx. $20 with a pair of black stretch jeans (not shown), CDs, ceramic clown ($2) and clothes organizer ($3.99).

I was so jazzed about that organizer, I installed it the same day and went through the clothing that hung in dry cleaner bags.  Now I can see them all in one place - I like the blue and yellow flowered front.
